Grand Old Days, already the largest one-day festival in the Midwest, is adding a second day in 2016. The additional day will showcase Grand Avenue business and create and opportunity for participants to enjoy Grand Old Days without the huge crowds.
Saturday, June 4 — The wide variety of retail businesses, services and restaurants along Grand Avenue will offer sidewalk sales and in-store events. Grand Avenue will remain open for this new Saturday addition.
Sunday, June 5 — 30 Bocks of Fun — Whether you're looking for the best summer parade in Minnesota (complete with candy, of course!), Minnesota outdoor music festivals, some of the best fair foods Minnesota has to offer, or just some good old family fun in the sun - St. Paul's Grand Old Days is the place to go! The 2-1/2 Miles of Grand Avenue is divided into 4 unique “Districts” which will have something for all ages and interests.
Listening to live music at our 6 unique Festival Gardens is a great way to ring in the summer in the Twin Cities! Dozens of the Twin Cities’ favorite bands perform throughout the afternoon.
Guests of all ages take part in interactive games and fun from area sports teams and organizations. Shoot baskets, take a photo op with a team mascot or learn more about our local teams.
This is also the one-stop spot for personal wellness. Set your goals for the summer. Try new services; get a chair massage in the middle of Grand Avenue; participate in street yoga, talk to wellness professionals and more! The possibilities for your summer wellness plan are endless.
One of the most popular and lively areas of Grand Old Days, the Family Fun District hosts free activities including: carnival ride (new for 2016), inflatable bounce houses, a petting zoo, face painting, family friendly performances and more!
New for 2016, this District will showcase the arts & cultural diversity of the Twin Cities. Learn about the talented arts community and the vibrant cultures of our area. The Arts & Culture District will also include demonstrations, entertainment and food from around the World.
Enjoy the Grand Old Days Parade, which starts at 9:30am at Dale Street, and marches (and rolls…and dances) down Grand Avenue - all the way to Fairview Avenue! You'll see fire trucks, Choo Choo Bob and other local celebrities, area "royalty", marching bands, gymnasts and dancers, and (of course) candy!
Over 150 food vendors will host booths along Grand Avenue, featuring an incredible array of the most delectable delights, including the best fair foods Minnesota has to offer!
