Renting an Apartment on Grand Avenue

Grand Avenue is one of the best places to live in Saint Paul, not only because is it in one of the safest neighborhoods, but it also has countless stores where residents can shop and dine. Most of the apartment buildings along the avenue were built in the 1920sand are filled with historic charm.  The apartments in these buildings often have hard wood floors, tall ceilings, and large windows.  If you are looking for an apartment with a pool or garage, Grand Avenue would not be a good place.

Living on Grand is also convenient if you work in downtown Saint Paul or Minneapolis because you do not have to spend as much time in rush hour, and they both can be easily reached by bus or bike.  Along Grand Avenue residents have access to the HourCar, NiceRide bikes, and numerous bike racks that all make getting around easier.

There are is everything from studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments available.   Rent can vary greatly based on the size of the apartment.  Most apartments on Grand require an initial one year lease and a security deposit equal to one-month’s rent.  The majority of the 1920s buildings only have one boiler or furnace so your rent typically includes heat, and also water and trash hauling.  Residents in these apartment pay for electricity use, stove gas use, phone and internet.

The best way to check out what apartments are available on the avenue is to drive or bike along looking for signs.  There are also several internet sites that can generate a map showing the available apartments along Grand Avenue.
