Keys 4/4 Kids (K4K) is a charity that provides fine used pianos at discount prices. All pianos at K4K have been donated by people in our local communities. Pianos are restored and sold to the public with 100% of profits benefiting local music and arts programs for low-income youth.
Newell Hill began K4K by selling pianos in his parent’s garage in Woodbury, MN back in the summer of 2000. The sales of these pianos supported a music and arts based after school program in North Minneapolis. K4K now sells over 500 pianos every year in St. Paul, Chicago & Kansas City.
Keys 4/4 Kids loves to give back to our local community! We have many ways that we do this, with the most fun and engaging being our Paint a Piano program. The Paint a Piano program donates pianos to local schools, churches and community centers around the Twin Cities area. Once the pianos are delivered, Keys 4/4 Kids volunteer staff lead a 90 minute activity that teaches students about how pianos work as well as gives students the opportunity to paint the piano. The painted pianos are then left at the schools, community centers or churches for students to play and enjoy. Most recently, we painted a piano for the Earl Browne Charter School in Brooklyn Center! Take a look at some photos!
